Got Your Attention? How to Create Intrigue and
Connect with Anyone

Did you know GOLDFISH have longer attention spans than humans? Nine seconds to our eight, according to Harvard Business School professor Nancy Koehn. Sam Horn, author of "POP!," introduces her new book "Got Your Attention?" that sends a bold message — being intrigued in others makes us intriguing to others. Sam shares her secret sauce for creating mutual intrigue, and for turning frustrating, waste-of-time, one-way interactions into productive, mutually rewarding, two-way connections that get results.

Additional Keynote Speakers To Be Announced

Please welcome our newest member of the Women in CE Advisory Board Michelle Lueck! Michelle attended our Legacy Awards at CES and our Retail Council Luncheon at the Girl’s Lounge on January 17.

We were delighted that Michelle Troupe and Tricia Nystrom could also attend the Retail Council Luncheon. We have a lot of opportunity to grow our organization to embrace the challenges of retail. Michelle has some great ideas, and we will be fleshing out the agenda for growth in the retail sector in the days and weeks ahead.

What's Your Pivot Word?
By Nicole Mangina

I've been listening to The Power, by Rhonda Byrne, lately.

It's a fantastic book about living your life through love, the stories we tell ourselves, and the idea that we attract what we think about. One of my favorite quotes from the book is: "Life isn't happening to you, it's responding to you."

I've heard this before, but for some reason new lights bulbs went off this time.

I've noticed lately how many of my "stories" are not helpful. Especially when it comes to other people. Things like: they'll never figure it out; they will always say unkind things. Clearly it's time to change my story.
