Core Brands

All of us at Core Brands are honored to be supporting Women in CE in its mission to empower women and help them build networks, realize career opportunities and achieve professional growth across the spectrum of the consumer electronics industry. We admire and appreciate the work being done and the opportunities being created. More and more we are seeing women in key influential roles at our dealers, distributors and at other manufacturers. This is a positive trend and we encourage it.

As one of Core Brands’ “Women in CE” I’ve experienced first-hand the passion that the company’s leadership has shown for creating and supporting a positive environment for women. Core Brands has encouraged me and others to join Connect Groups as well as the live networking events designed for women to interact, exchange ideas, educate, and empower one another. Add to that, the educational opportunities I’ve been afforded at events like CEDIA and CE Week.

These “power meetings” are an extraordinary outlet for meeting and working alongside industry leaders like Carol Campbell and Deena Ghazarian, who through their own experiences, serve as mentors and educators; sharing what they and other professional women face in the otherwise largely male-driven space. It’s fascinating that while women are outspending men in consumer electronics $55 billion to $41 billion, only 1 percent of women surveyed think that manufacturers have them in mind when creating products (according to a report released by the Consumer Electronics Show). Times are definitely changing and Core Brands is at the forefront of adopting this change—encouraging mentorship and growth opportunities for women like myself.

On behalf of Core Brands – “Good work Women in CE!”

The Girls Lounge @ CES

The Girls' Lounge is a social place that appears at many industry events for women in the marketing, advertising, research, media, and technology sectors to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. What started out as small gatherings of just a few close women has gone viral, with friends inviting friends who invite their friends. In the lounges, women come to talk business and life, laugh, linger, and relax while they get beautified and inspired.

Struggling With Affirmations? Here’s Why
By Nicole Mangina

I've tried affirmations over the years. Every now and then I'll connect with one, but for the most part they don't seem to work for me. I think it's because my mind is so logical. It bugs me when things don't match.

The topic of affirmations came up this week, and I had an 'aha' surrounding them. If you are a fan of Abraham Hicks, you know that to create anything you must first raise your vibration/energy to match it in order to attract it. If that seems too 'woo-woo' for you, check out Einstein's explanation: "Everything is energy and that's all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics."— Albert Einstein

Science and woo-woo ~ my two favorite topics, all rolled into one. Click to learn more!
