Biamp Adds Wireless USB and Content Sharing to Meeting Solutions Portfolio With Purchase of HRT SRL

Biamp Enters Definitive Agreement to Buy Huddle Room Technology SRL

AMSTERDAM — Feb. 11, 2020 — Biamp (Booth 3-B90) announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Huddle Room Technology (HRT) SRL based in Modena, Italy. The acquisition adds HRT's innovative family of Huddle Hub wireless USB and content sharing products to Biamp's extensive range of meeting room solutions.

HRT is a leader in wireless USB technology that powers its products and improves the user experience in bring-your-own-device (BYOD) spaces. Its flagship product, the Huddle Hub, allows computers and mobile devices to connect to room peripherals including displays, speakers, microphones, and cameras without any physical connection. Once connected, users can display content, launch applications, and engage in soft codec UC meetings on their personal device.

"HRT has demonstrated impressive vision and technical expertise in designing the Huddle Hub, a truly unique and potent BYOD meeting solution," said Rashid Skaf, President, CEO, and Co-chairman of Biamp. "Huddle Hub provides wireless USB, screen sharing, screen rebroadcasting, and smart room integration all from one platform, and when combined with our solutions, allows us to create truly extraordinary experiences for our customers. When we introduced our first USB collaboration hub, Devio, it was met with tremendous success and proved the appeal of high-performing, easy-to-use BYOD room solutions. The Huddle Hub's wireless USB capability targets these same applications and is a natural and complementary addition to Biamp's portfolio that we're certain will be well received by integrators and end-users alike."

"I'm tremendously proud of the technology and products we have developed at HRT," said Stefano Spattini, CEO of HRT. "I fully believe the Huddle Hub has extraordinary potential to improve the meeting experience in a wide range of common scenarios. The challenge for HRT was how to give our products the visibility in a crowded AV market to let them reach their potential. Joining Biamp aligns us with a partner that is equally excited by what we've built and has the market reach and resources to take full advantage of what our solutions have to offer. I'm enthusiastic about what we will achieve together."

Unlike competing wireless USB solutions, the Huddle Hub adds multi-user screen sharing, which allows several users to share content to the room display simultaneously. Meeting attendees can also request that the displayed content is broadcast back to their laptop or mobile device, permitting them to view content locally rather than relying on the room display. This is a great feature when in-room displays are small, far away, obstructed, or if the viewer simply has difficulty seeing content clearly. This unique combination of capabilities means the Huddle Hub delivers three complementary experiences from a single device.

Newly announced and exhibited at ISE in Booth 14-B140 is the corporate cloud-based version of Biamp HRT's collaboration technology, Huddle Hub Enterprise (HH Enterprise). HH Enterprise lets enterprise organizations create smart rooms that exist as permanent virtual meeting places. Users can enter virtual rooms from anywhere reachable by the corporate network and instantly begin collaborating with other visitors in the smart room. It's the ideal solution for small groups that meet around tables in lobbies, offices, or in any other location not equipped with AV equipment. As a result, users can share content and collaborate easily and efficiently using only their computer or mobile device. A single HH Enterprise device can host six simultaneous meetings with up to 150 total participants.

More information on HRT and the Huddle Hub is available at https://www.hrt.website. More information on Biamp's full product portfolio is available at www.biamp.com.

About HRT
The mission of HRT is to deliver technological solutions that create the most comfortable and effective experience for wireless presentation and video communication in huddle rooms. With this goal in mind, HRT conceived Huddle Hub One, the first product designed to supplement the current AV technologies in order to enhance the user experience. Huddle Hub brings huddle room video communication to an unprecedented level of comfort, effectiveness and flexibility.

Biamp Streamlines Inclusion of Dante in System Designs

New TesiraCONNECT TC-5D Seamlessly Bridges Biamp AVB and Dante Networks

AMSTERDAM — Feb. 11, 2020 — Biamp today announced the expansion of the TesiraCONNECT line to include the TesiraCONNECT TC-5D. The new dual network device allows designers to seamlessly incorporate both AVB and Dante® into their AV solutions, underscoring Biamp's commitment to multi-protocol support and providing integrators with the tools they need to deliver complete solutions.

Debuting at Booth 3-B90 at ISE 2020, TesiraCONNECT TC-5D features the same plug and play simplicity of the recently introduced TC-5 connectivity appliance and adds the interoperability of Dante. With the TC-5D, designers and integrators can easily connect and power via PoE+ both Dante and Biamp AVB devices in the same system with no configuration required.

The new appliance allows connected Dante devices to be managed using Dante Domain Manager as well as configured in Dante Controller. Once installed, the TC-5D can be monitored and maintained using Biamp's SageVue™ management platform like other Biamp products.

"No matter which components are selected, Biamp is committed to supporting the network protocols that our integrators prefer to use," said Joe Andrulis, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Biamp. "TesiraCONNECT TC-5D ensures networking protocol and product selection decisions stay firmly in the hands of designers and integrators while providing them with all the benefits of the Tesira® platform. Integrators now have the flexibility they need to create the most effective system without burdening IT departments with special network considerations and lengthy installations."

The new TC-5D is designed to support a range of use cases, from customers utilizing a Dante enterprise backbone to bridge multiple Biamp conference rooms together, to solutions that need to combine Biamp Tesira products with common Dante devices such as mixing consoles or wireless microphone systems.

Andrulis continued, "When a system uses only Biamp components, the TC-5 is an effective and economical connectivity solution. However, with simultaneous support of Biamp AVB and Dante, the TC-5D represents the most flexible connectivity solution for the Tesira platform, enabling the ease of use, performance, and flexibility our customers need no matter what mix of devices their system incorporates."

Both TC-5D and the existing TC-5 model come with five network connections, four of which are PoE+-powered RJ-45 ports that support single-cable connectivity. An additional unpowered RJ-45 port is included to easily pass all signals back to a Tesira DSP such as the TesiraFORTÉ®. For more complex installations requiring greater port capacity, integrators can daisy-chain up to four TesiraCONNECT devices. Both the TC-5 and TC-5D feature a small, attractive enclosure, which gives integrators the flexibility to mount them under a table, in a cabinet, or behind a monitor. The TesiraCONNECT TC-5D and the TesiraCONNECT TC-5 integrate with Biamp's SageVue management and monitoring system for incredible ease of management.

The TesiraCONNECT TC-5D will be available in the third quarter of 2020.

Biamp Launches Family of Sleek, Touch-Enabled Control Interfaces

TEC-X Configurable Control Pads Combine Ease of Use with Ease of Programming at the Cost of a Keypad Controller

AMSTERDAM — Feb. 11, 2020 — Biamp (Booth 3-B90) expands its portfolio of conferencing and sound reinforcement solutions with the introduction of TEC-X, a family of easy-to-use, elegant wall and table controllers. The contemporary-style devices allow users to control AV equipment in presentation spaces and conference rooms that utilize the Tesira® platform.

The TEC-X family includes two models: the TEC-X 1000 and TEC-X 2000. The TEC-X 1000 combines a rotary encoder and small touchscreen. The control pad can be programmed to display a variety of button layouts that can initiate virtually any action desired. The large, weighted rotary encoder is designed to be instantly recognizable to end-users as a volume control but can be programmed for any purpose. The rotary can be pushed to select for one additional button to those displayed on the screen.

For applications that require more buttons, the TEC-X 2000 features a larger touchscreen in lieu of the rotary encoder. It can be programmed with a variety of layouts that feature up to 12 touch buttons. Both options are PoE-powered to simplify installation cabling, and up to four controllers can be daisy-chained to support environments that require multiple devices. The design is modern and slim, extending only 13mm (0.5") from the wall. Only a very small element is housed within the wall, allowing the TEC-X controllers to be installed in a wide variety of back boxes from around the world. TEC-X supports 802.1X authentication and features an ambient light sensor for energy efficiency, as well as a programmable lightbar that can be used to indicate room or device status as desired.

While a common use case will be to control volume levels and source selection, system programmers can use the TEC-X for any control purpose and have extensive customization capabilities of the user interface through Tesira software. As new features are added to Tesira or changes are made to the room, programmers will be able to easily extend the new capabilities to TEC-X devices and make operational adjustments, futureproofing the room's control capabilities. The TEC-X family is the perfect user interface for AV systems in lecture theaters, multi-purpose rooms, auditoriums, and common areas as well as conferencing spaces of varying sizes.

"The TEC-X design team thought of everything," said Joe Andrulis, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Biamp. "For users, we have a sleek, easy-to-use touch interface with a clear and precise up/down knob to quickly adjust volume, select sources, and similar jobs. For installers, Power over Ethernet, simple mounting, and daisy-chaining capabilities make it easy to install and highly flexible, while reducing the number of cable runs. For programmers, our new interface is intuitive, fast, and integrated right into the Tesira programming environment they're already familiar with. TEC-X is an exciting addition to the Tesira product family."

TEC-X control pads will be available in the second quarter of 2020.

Biamp Extends the Reach of Crowd Mics to Remote Audiences

Global Remote Audiences Can Now Participate in Live Events With Their Smartphones

AMSTERDAM — Feb. 11, 2020 — Biamp (Booth 3-B90) continues to create extraordinary collaboration experiences between presenters and audience members with the launch of Crowd Mics™ Online at ISE 2020. Crowd Mics transforms every smartphone into a personal microphone and interactive response system via a free iOS or Android app. Now, Biamp is extending the use of Crowd Mics to remote locations. With Crowd Mics Online, geographically diverse audience members can use their smartphones to connect with the event presenter as if they were in the same room.

Demonstrating Biamp's commitment to global audiences and customers, both the attendee app and moderator interface will be translated into 20 languages to make Crowd Mics more accessible to international users.

"Clear communication and engaged audiences are critical to successful events, but until now there hasn't been an effective and meaningful way for remote attendees to participate," said Joe Andrulis, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Biamp. "Crowd Mics Online draws remote attendees more deeply into the event by allowing them to participate as fully and as easily as the attendees in the room."

Crowd Mics is the premier audience engagement solution for presentations, lectures, panel discussions, and other live events, allowing presenters and attendees to connect on a personal level. Moderators always maintain full control over the conversation via the moderator interface. Crowd Mics Online enables full bi-directional functionality between remote participants and the Crowd Mic's host device, the ATOM, so attendees anywhere can ask questions by voice or text and participate in real-time polls via their smartphones.

Crowd Mics Online complements event broadcast systems by adding remote messaging capabilities and interactive polling. As a result, new paths to engagement are created and the remote event is transformed into an enriching, productive experience. Crowd Mics Online is supported by flexible licensing options for individual events, as well as monthly and annual license subscriptions, and will be available in Q2 2020.

More information on Crowd Mics is available at www.crowdmics.com, while Biamp's full product portfolio is available at www.biamp.com.

Biamp Targets Retail and Hospitality Markets With Multi-Zone Audio Solutions

The PREZONE2 Preamplifier and P30DT Pendant Loudspeaker Redefine Audio Standards for Retail and Hospitality

AMSTERDAM — Feb. 11, 2020 — Biamp (Booth 1-H140) today announced the launch of the PREZONE2 dual-zone stereo preamplifier and the P30DT 4.25-inch, two-way pendant loudspeaker, both designed for ease of use and exceptional music reproduction in retail and hospitality applications. The PREZONE2 empowers end users to intuitively control audio source selection and volume across two audio zones, while the P30DT adds even more design flexibility to Biamp's already expansive loudspeaker catalog by providing designers and integrators with a smaller pendant loudspeaker ideal for venues where aesthetics and audio quality are of equal importance.

The PREZONE2 utilizes the straightforward user interface design introduced with Biamp's PREZONE1, allowing end-users without expertise in professional audiovisual systems to control both the audio source and volume in two areas. End-users can also easily employ public address features like paging and emergency alerts. The PREZONE2's front panel provides immediate feedback of operational status with push-button capability for source select and separate volume knobs for each zone. It also supports inputs for two microphones that can be mixed easily with one of four audio sources in each zone, while both zoned and all-call paging modes are supported.

For integrators, the rear panel inputs and outputs are intuitively laid out left to right in descending order of audio priority level, with individual controls for volume, gain, and EQ available for each priority level. Both RCA and Euroblock connectors are supported, and each output channel is equipped with an independent mono/stereo switch on the rear panel for added flexibility. In addition, the PREZONE2 serves a mobile-friendly web page that gives end users the same capabilities as the front panel of the device for audio source selection, volume control, and more. Its audio performance, ease of use, and versatile feature set make the PREZONE2 ideal for a variety of retail and hospitality applications.

Also announced is a new, smaller pendant loudspeaker, the P30DT. Biamp's P30DT two-way pendant loudspeaker shares the design of its larger sibling, the P60DT, and utilizes the same drivers as the CM30DTD in-ceiling loudspeaker — a 4.25-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter — resulting in matched acoustic characteristics and performance. Ideal for retail and hospitality environments, it offers the same superior full-range music reproduction as the rest of Biamp's pendant family, and its wide coverage area allows for fewer loudspeakers while maintaining excellent speech intelligibility. The P30DT is equipped with a tuned bass reflex port for optimized low frequency performance and a unique overload protection feature for 24/7 failsafe operation. Available in black or white, the P30DT utilizes a multi-position switchable transformer for constant-voltage operation, making it an excellent choice for a wide range of background and foreground audio applications.

"Biamp is excited to announce the PREZONE2 dual-zone preamplifier as a natural extension of the very popular PREZONE1 single zone model," said Joe Andrulis, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Biamp. "Two-zone applications are one of the fastest growing opportunities in the retail area for business owners who need to segment their audio by target audience or store layout. PREZONE2 makes this possible with a solution that's as easy to use as their home stereo. Biamp designed PREZONE2 for the owner or employee rather than AV professional, and it pairs very well with the new P30DT pendant. Both products have several installer-friendly features that will make them favorites among integrators."

The PREZONE2 is now shipping, and the P30DT will begin shipping in Q2 2020.

Biamp Debuts Extraordinary Beamforming Venue Horn in Europe

The Community LVH-900 Beamforming Venue Horn Offers Unparalleled Performance from a Point Source Loudspeaker

AMSTERDAM — Feb. 11, 2020 — Debuting in Europe at ISE 2020 at Booth 1-H140, the Community LVH-900 Beamforming Venue Horn from Biamp provides the highest output, widest bandwidth, and most consistent coverage of any large format point source loudspeaker on the market. The Community LVH-900 Beamforming Venue Horn precisely tailors the directivity of each loudspeaker, or array of loudspeakers, to meet the sound requirements of any large venue application. Combined with Amplified Loudspeaker Controllers, the large-format, arrayable point source loudspeaker delivers precise, smooth, even, and full-range sound distribution.

"Excellent audio performance is essential for creating an extraordinary experience in large venues and stadiums, but it can be challenging and time-consuming to establish precise sound coverage in all seating areas with point source speakers, at least until now," said Joe Andrulis, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Biamp. "The Community LVH-900's beamforming capabilities provide system designers with the flexibility to modify the coverage pattern of a single loudspeaker, or array of loudspeakers, without having to change out the physical loudspeaker. No other point source loudspeaker on the market achieves the level of performance, coverage, and arrayability we offer in the LVH-900."

Designed for both music and speech reproduction and available in indoor and outdoor models, the LVH-900 is engineered to serve as a primary loudspeaker for arenas, theaters, stadiums, houses of worship, and other large venues. Each LVH-900 loudspeaker consists of four 12-inch LF drivers, three Biamp Community M200 midrange compression drivers, and four 1.5-inch HF compression drivers. Using patent-pending techniques, all drivers integrate into a single tri-axial waveguide that fills the entire 36 x 31-inch face of the enclosure, providing pattern control to below 400Hz. The LVH-906 and LVH-909 offer 60 or 90 degrees of fixed horizontal dispersion, respectively, with each allowing vertical dispersion beamforming ranging from 60 to 20 degrees.

The LVH-900 will be available in the second quarter of 2020.
